Specifically, You see the redo log of VM-000001.vmdk is corrupted error message and it comes with number of possible reasons. In fact, I was able to resolve it with first solution mentioned below but I am writing all the internet related solutions as well to created a helpful tutorial. Now, let me share all solutions that works for me time to time.
- Firstly, consolidate virtual machine snapshots.
- Right click the VM name in the VMWare ESXi (VMware vSphere Client).
- Then, in the menu that opens, click on Snapshots > Consolidate.
- Now, you will see the message below in dialog box.
Confirm Consolidate
This operation consolidates all redundant redo logs on your virtual machine. Are you sure you want to continue?
- Secondly, Storage device free space issue.
- Extend the particular VMFS datastore.
- When the datastore containing the snapshot disks runs out of free disk space.
- Migrate other virtual machines’ files out of this datastore.
- Thirdly, connectivity issues on ESXi host.
- Storage connectivity issue.
- vCenter server and the ESXi host connectivity issues.
- Fourth, Commit the virtual machine snapshots
