Error 711: Cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager

In fact, Error 711: Cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager on Windows 7 was annoying to me. The error was something funny and irritating because it was resolved by renaming or deleting the logs. Earlier, the problem was related to Diagnose Connection Problems in IE8 but after the fix, I start receiving error 711 on windows 7.

Error Details

Below is the complete error but recently I uninstalled Microsoft Security Essentials. Then, I installed Avast Antivirus and run a Virus Scan on that System but all was a wastage of time.

“Error 711: The operation could not finish because it could not start the Remote Access Connection Manager Service in time. Please try the operation again.”

Error 711 Solution

1. This problem can occur if some or all of the following services aren’t started – try to start these services:

  • Plug and Play
  • Remote Access Auto Connection Manager
  • Remote Access Connection Manager
  • Telephony

2. Sometimes only Telephony Services hangs on and restart system / Start Services helps to fix this issue. See this link for better understanding

3. So funny solution is here but it works for me, follow the instructions…

  • Renaming or deleting the following folder seems to work for some users:
    • C:\Windows\System32\LogFiles\WMI\RtBackup
  • Restart your Computer and Try again to your VPN.

Additionally, I believe that this will resolve your issue related to VPN client on Windows 7. I did not face this issue on Windows 8 or Windows 8.1. Now, if you face the same issue, you can at least give a try to this solution. Above solution works for me all the time, hopefully this will work for you.
